BOW WOW Check Rayon Shirt

Rayon shirting had its moment in America through the 1940s and 50s, when the fabric's drape and slight sheen made it a step up from cotton flannel without the cost of silk. It fell out of workwear entirely once cheaper cotton-poly blends took over, which is part of why Japanese reproduction labels keep coming back to it.

It handles differently to cotton too, with a cooler, softer feel against the skin and a drape that moves rather than holds shape. This one carries visible repair stitching on worn and torn areas, giving it the Aikyō (the earned charm) BOW WOW builds into every piece. The check here runs blue, black and grey, a combination closer to the muted palettes of the period than the bolder plaids usually associated with flannel.
