What We Think

Building on the foundation of the 1950 “U,” the Godspeed 1950 “UV” offers the same wide-straight silhouette, low-tension Fukuyama denim, and meticulous construction but with a carefully developed vintage wash that brings decades of wear to life. Drawing from an archive of vintage jeans, the wash process combines the best aging characteristics into a single, cohesive finish.

Each pair is hand-distressed in Japan using traditional techniques to replicate natural fading and texture. The result is a faithful reproduction of aged denim that retains the softness, depth, and character of the original 13oz fabric. The 1950 “UV” captures the lived-in beauty of vintage denim while maintaining Godspeed’s exacting standards of craftsmanship and proportion.
