What We Think

Drawing from mid-century denim archetypes, the Godspeed 1950 “U” represents a considered study in proportion, fabric, and finish. The wide-straight silhouette and higher rise recall the honest, utilitarian fits of post-war workwear, while the 13oz low-tension denim captures the character of early 1947xx cloth without the stiffness.

Woven in Fukuyama on shuttle looms, the fabric balances texture and softness, offering depth from the first wear. Details like the pink selvedge ID, natural herringbone pocket bags, and the Resilience leather patch reflect a quiet reverence for craftsmanship. Finished with brass hardware by Button Works and YKK Japan, the 1950 “U” embodies Godspeed’s ongoing dialogue between tradition, refinement, and endurance.
