The Catface Jacket is one of those pieces that perfectly captures what TCB does best. Rather than recreating the polished side of vintage clothing, they've focused on the rugged practicality of military workwear and all the character that comes with it.

Inspired by the US Army M40 denim jacket, the design is refreshingly simple. Decorative details have been stripped away in favour of a functional, purpose driven garment that feels just as relevant today as it did in the 1940s. The result is a chore jacket that looks rugged without feeling overly workwear focused.

What really sets this jacket apart is the fabric. TCB developed a custom 10.2oz denim using recycled cotton in both the warp and weft yarns, creating the kind of slubby texture and uneven character often found in vintage military garments. Rather than chasing perfection, TCB embraces the irregularities that naturally occur during production, resulting in a denim that feels authentic from day one.

The indigo warp and grey weft construction recreates the look and character of vintage US Army denim. Combined with the textured surface and uneven yarns, the fabric has a distinctive roughness that modern denims often lack. As the jacket ages, the indigo will gradually fade, highlighting the fabric's unique texture and creating wear patterns that are entirely individual to the wearer.
