The 50’s XX High Rise Straight Denim Jeans are a true homage to the iconic 1950s Levi's 501, meticulously recreated to reflect every detail of its vintage counterpart. Drawing inspiration from an original vintage pair in TCB's collection, these jeans have been crafted with an unwavering commitment to authenticity. From the yarn count to the shape, every element of the design has been carefully studied to ensure a faithful reproduction, staying true to the spirit and quality of the 1950s denim. The 13.5oz fabric, made from Zimbabwe cotton, delivers the perfect balance of weight and texture, while maintaining the natural irregularities found in vintage denim.

One of the standout features of the 13.5oz denim is its incredible ability to develop stunning fades over time. Thanks to the traditional, hand-woven production process using vintage looms, the denim develops a beautiful, unique patina. The fabric fades gradually, starting with small white patches that eventually connect to form striking vertical fades, reminiscent of authentic vintage pieces.

The fit of the 50’s XX jeans features a mid-rise with a relaxed fit that tapers slightly toward the hem, offering a timeless silhouette that remains comfortable and stylish. TCB has paid close attention to the smallest details, including the use of hidden rivets on the back pockets. These rivets are attached using the most durable method, ensuring they hold up over time while maintaining the integrity of the overall design. The jeans are finished with a hand-sewn paper patch that starts to tear as the denim fades, revealing the deep blue colour underneath—just like the original vintage 501s.

TCB's commitment to authenticity extends beyond the fabric and fit. The sewing methods used in the construction of the 50’s XX are as true to the vintage as possible, with each stitch carefully crafted in Kojima, Japan. TCB selected four different yarn colours and five different yarn counts to match the original, and adjusted the sewing width and settings of their vintage sewing machines to mirror the original production techniques. Even the seemingly imperfect, rough stitching on the pocket bags has been recreated to reflect the durability and character of the 1950s style.
