Tanuki 15oz "Soga" High Rise Tapered Selvedge Jeans

Tanuki's newest fabric creation is called the SOGA. A highly textured 15 oz denim made from Texas cotton and botanically dyed with a combination of saffron and turmeric. The yellow-ish colour gives this fabric its name, Soga-iro is a slightly muted yellow colour as to be found in the blossom of the chrysanthemum flower.

The colour was named after the Emperor Ninmyo, who greatly liked the yellow chrysanthemums during the Jowa period (834-848). Soga is a corruption of the word Jowa and sometimes reads "Jowa-iro".
The botanical Dye makes for a stiff fabric at first but with some wear, it will become smooth and soft like most of Tanuki's fabric.

Ethan is 178cm and 68kg, usually wears a size a size L (40) top and 31 bottom. He is wearing a 31 in this garment.

The high tapered fit from Tanuki is one of our best selling fits. A higher rise with room though the thighs and a tapered leg opening. It has a modern fit and works well on slimmer builds who find straight leg jeans too baggy.

Tanuki create interesting denims that are often slubby, neppy and textured in feel. They create jeans that will develop high contrast fades that have depth in colour and tones. The Soga High Tapered jean has a textured mid weight denim that is soft and comfortable while maintaining a slim fit jean.
