Brown's Beach
The origins of Brown's Beach date back to 1901 in Worcester, Massachusetts where William W Brown wagered the success of his new company on the functionality of its fabric. The material was knitted from a two-ply blend of 30 percent cotton and 70 percent recycled wool and was water-resistant, unshrinkable, essentially untearable, surprisingly warm and incredibly comfortable — perfect for use in inclement weather.
What’s more, Brown’s use of reclaimed wool allowed the outerwear to be sold at competitive prices.
In 2010 Mikiharu Tsujita of Fullcount acquired the rights to the brand and re-invigorated this once classic American icon to the exact detail and Japanese standards bringing the fabric back to life in both classic and modern interpretations.
