This heavyweight loopwheel T-shirt is knitted on Daimaru “Biglooper” machines, a rare cylindrical knitting machine found only in Japan. Designed to push the limits of traditional loopwheel technology, each Daimaru features over a thousand individually set needles, operated under the expert eye of skilled craftsmen.

The result is a tubular, circular-knit fabric with no side seams, offering a clean silhouette and superior comfort. The low-tension knitting creates a soft, heavy yet breathable fabric that’s ideal for natural dyeing and develops character with wear.

What We Think

The Daimaru Biglooper is a Japanese made circular knitting machine designed to take traditional loopwheel fabric a step further. Each one has over a thousand needles, all set by hand and monitored by skilled craftsmen. The result is a low tension cotton that feels soft but strong, and takes to natural dyeing beautifully.

This is the kind of tee that only gets better the more you wear it. It fades slowly, like an old band shirt, and starts to feel like it was made just for you. It’s still a basic, just done properly. Worth the investment.

All garments available at our store are highly considered, thoughtfully designed and superior crafted. They are beautiful and rare in nature and often made with natural / organic fibres. If you treat them well, they will last you a lifetime.
